Farmer Standards
In order to join the M3 collective our farmers need to:
Hold a current Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Certification.
Verify that each animal has been raised on their farms for at least 150 days (through farm and/or sales records).
Guarantee that M3 beef cattle are:
raised in uncrowded conditions with access to pasture, quality forage, and clean water.
raised on pastures (and hay) that are not fertilized with bio-solids.
fed grain only for training or finishing.
free from growth hormones, steroids, or unnecessary sub-clinical antibiotics.
Verify all vaccine/antibiotic withdrawal records.
Verify identity of harvested livestock.
Agree to annual visits and consultation with M3 representatives (who consult with local extension agents, local NRCS representatives, and local soil and water district representatives) in order to confirm their commitment to humane treatment of animals and regenerative farming practices.
M3 recognizes the following certification of these practices from a third party such as:
Any of the A Greener World (AGW) farm animal welfare certifications.
Regenerative certifications from AGW (this certification also satisfies humane treatment).
Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) certification from the Savory Institute.
